KS4

We provide UK curriculum aligned programmes for the core subjects. We provide a reader book, with accompanying lesson plans for each level and pupil activities. We use our fun Educational Paper Craft Packs, dies and other craft materials and provide clear teacher instructions to show how each element of the curriculum requirements is covered within the lessons.

Assessment is included throughout using the verbal and written pupil exercises. For pupils with learning disabilities we provide a powerpoint slide show and license schools to print out each sheet so that the pupil can work at their own pace.

KS4 Money and Finance Matters

AB Curriculum together with partner companies have come together to deliver a ‘Money and Finance Matters’ programme covering key stage 1 to adult learning.  Download our information leaflet:

Activity 1 – Properties of The Leaky Bucket – Everyone attends

Objective: Introduce the workshop day and immediately engage pupils. Encourage team work and spirit within five work groups. Have pupils recognise that common objects can be used to explain what words mean. (A bucket represents a savings container; water represents money). Improve communications. Have pupils create a scene where they use the bucket and materials provided to illustrate low and high spending and savings.

Activity 2 – A business Idea – Group of five students

Objective: Have pupils create their own business. Pupils set up a budget, a marketing plan and design a product. A profit and loss projected statement results.

Activity 3 – Crafty Consideration – Group of five students

Objective: Pupils consider the costs of mobile phones, internet packages and travel. Crafting materials are used to design posters, which they feel should be displayed in a citizens advice bureau about costs for a chosen topic.

Activity 4 – Short and Long Term Money – Group of five students

Objective: Pupils debate whether working during their school/college years 9-12 is good or bad when considering how much money they can earn short and long term.

Activity 5 – Money is for Real! Group of five students

Objective: Pupils work in groups and use a computer quiz to practice real life application of the skills and knowledge about money following the workshops completed. (Level 2).

KS4 Olympic Games

We have created one of our wonderful reader book activity programmes, including a four week project using a die machine, dies and curriculum aligned exercises covering the Olympic Games. Download our information leaflet:

Olympic Reader Book

This part of the reader programme provides pupils with a longer story about Rufus and Lucy researching, learning and dreaming about the 2012 Olympic Games. Depending upon the level of the pupils involved, the pupils can either read to others or be read to. At the end of the book, the pupils are asked to research and learn about the Winter Olympic Games in the same way as Rufus and Lucy did for the Summer Olympic Games. We do also have Rufus the puppet, to aid teaching younger pupils and pupils with special educational needs. Many pupils find Rufus much easier to talk to/through than themselves!

Photocopiable Sheets

50 exercises for EYFS – KS4 aligned to the current science curriculum. Each of these exercises is photocopiable and was written by Dr. Carol Usher and Clare Watts. The sheets can be used in future for Sports Day.
