KS3 Olympic Games

AB Curriculum together with partner companies have come together to deliver a ‘Money and Finance Matters’ programme covering key stage 1 to adult learning. Use the arrows below to look through the different products available or download our information leaflet:

Activity 1 - The Leaky Bucket

Objective: Introduce the workshop day and immediately engage pupils. Encourage team work and spirit within five work groups. Have pupils recognise that common objects can be used to explain what words mean. (A bucket represents a savings container; water represents money). Improve communications. Encourage thought by pupils about others in lower years by having them create an investigation using the bucket which can help Year 6 pupils understand "Save" and "Spend"

Activity 3 - Mental Maths with Interest!

Objective: Pupils learn and apply knowledge about percentages and discounts in real life situations. Pupils recognise the coins and notes used in the U.K. and use them to represent calculated totals. Pupils understand basic information about bank accounts and can explain where money comes from that they see people get from the hole in the wall. Pupils understand about credit and debit cards, cash and cheques and know that cheques will soon not be in use in the U.K. Pupils learn that when paying for goods we are often charged interest or fees and the purchase is sometimes financed using credit cards. A basic understanding of APR results.
